About OfflinePix

Converting a photo should not require handing it to a stranger. OfflinePix exists to make the obvious thing easy: run the converter on the device that already has the photo.

The need is mundane. iPhones save HEIC, Windows cannot open it, and half the web now serves WebP and AVIF that desktop apps and upload forms reject. The usual answer is an "online converter" that quietly uploads your pictures, caps your batch, and sometimes is not what it claims to be. Browsers have been able to do this work locally for years; nobody had made that the default.

Part of Goods Media

OfflinePix is built and operated by Goods Media LLC, a small software company in Fountain Hills, Arizona that builds and acquires software products. Its other products are Dexter, Assembly and RecallMyCar. OfflinePix is supported by advertising. See how it works for the technical details.

Open source

The heavy lifting is done by libheif, libavif, libwebp (via jSquash) and fflate. Their licences are shipped alongside the code in /assets/vendor/.
